A young black newspaperman is sent to prison for a murder he did not commit. He flees from prison and travels to the southwest where he encounters Tex Miller, a beautiful cowgirl and falls in love with her. Things end up working out for him when the real killer confesses to the crime, which leaves him to stay in the southwest with Tex.
