Released in 1923 by Pathé, The Big Show is an Our Gang / Little Rascals comedy short directed by Robert F. McGowan.
The kids of the gang have the brilliant idea of putting on their own county fair, and begin gathering different animals from the neighborhood to disguise as ‘wild African creatures’.
They also set up a shooting gallery and other attractions, but the main event is their movie theater where they stage a variety program with members of the gang impersonating different stars of the day.
Andy Samuels impersonates Charlie Chaplin in a bit from Shoulder Arms, Mary appears as Mary Pickford, Mickey imitates Douglas Fairbanks from The Three Musketeers, Jack is William S. Hart, Sunshine Sammy does Uncle Tom from Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and another gang member impersonates Harold Lloyd.
