Alfred Dubois begins a film production company with his lovely secretary. Everything goes smoothly with their first film, The Hypocrite, yet he must show the film to the censor board, which consists of a group of preachers led by the conservative Christian P. Bently. Bently disapproves of the film, believing there is too much violence. Dubois is determined for another group to look at the film in order for the public to be able to view the film.
