Frank changes his mind on what he wants over and over again – showing that men really don’t know what they want. First he wants to invent things. Then he decides he wants to marry Hallie, his childhood sweetheart. Next he wants children. However, when his inventions bring him lots of money, he wants to take on another woman. After discovering she has a bad reputation, he wants his wife back. He thinks she has been cheating on him, and no longer wants her, but then discovers she has been faithful and once again wishes to return to her. At the end, Hallie lets him come back to her.
