This very early puppet stop animation film is about Mary and Gretel who are exploring a forest setting.  While there they encounter Rip Van Winkle, woodsmen who have been enjoying a bit too much ale, and a white rabbit.  They also find magic flowers, and eventually a fairy appears who sends them home.
