WALLY COX BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Wally Cox was born on December 6th, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan with the birth name Wallace Maynard Cox. As a child, he was raised in Evanston, Illinois. When he was old enough he served during World War II and afterwards relocated to New York City and studied metal working.
When he was a young boy he made friends with Marlon Brando and when living in New York City the two men met up again. Marlon was already involved in acting and he played a role in sparking Cox's interest in the industry.
Cox soon began working on a number of television shows such as, "Mister Peepers" (1952) which brought him great praise and even earned him two Emmy nominations as well as "The Adventures of Hiram Holliday" (1956), "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1962) and on "The Hollywood Squares" (1965).
Along with his television career, he was also involved in voice over work such as playing the cartoon character, Underdog in, "Underdog" (1964). Along with working as an actor, Cox recorded some albums for the Arvee, George and Wand record labels. He even authored a number of children's book titled, "The Tenth Life of Osiris Oakes", "My Life As A Small Boy" (1961) and "Ralph Makes Good" (1965).
Sadly, on February 15th, 1973 his life was cut short when he passed away in Los Angeles, California from what some say was an overdose of sedatives, but has been ruled as a heart attack. His remains were cremated and for thirty years, his close friend, Marlon Brando hid his best friends remains in his closet. Later both Brando's and Cox's ashes were scattered together in Death Valley, California.
Cox was married three times during his lifetime, first to Marilyn Gennaro from 1954 through 1961 and together they had one child. His second wife was, Milagros Tirado Fink whom he wed in 1963 and was only married to her for three years. Cox's final marriage was to Patricia Tiernan in 1967 and they were together until he passed away.
