VICTOR MOORE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Victor Moore was born on February 24th, 1876 in Hammonton, New Jersey with the middle name Frederick. He first began his career as an actor debuting in 1915 in the film, "Snobs" followed by small roles in, "Chimmie Fadden" and "Chimmie Faden Out West" (both 1915).
He would go on to appear in a variety of films and also worked as a stage actor on Broadway. Some of his stage credits included, "Rosemary", "Forty-Five Minutes from Broadway", "Oh, Kay!", "Hold Everything", "Of Thee I Sing" and "Let 'Em Eat Cake" among many others.
Some of his more well known film roles were on, "Swing Time" (1936), "Make Way for Tomorrow" (1937), "Louisiana Purchase" (1941), "Star Spangled Rhythm" (1942), "Duffy's Tavern" (1945), "Ziegfeld Follies" (1946), "It Happened on 5th Avenue" (1947), "On Our Merry Way" (1948), "We're Not Married" (1952) and his final film role was in, "The Seven Year Itch" (1955) starring Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell.
He also focused on television appearances later in his career adding credits from, "So This is Hollywood", "Musical Comedy Time" and "The Best of Broadway".
Victor Moore married twice throughout his lifetime, his first wife was Emma Littlefield whom he wed in 1902 and performed vaudeville with. They had three children, Victor Jr., Ora and Robert and remained together until she passed away in 1934. He then married Shirley Paige in 1942, who was twenty two at the time and he was sixty seven. This marriage lasted until he passed away on July 24th, 1962 in Long Island, New York after suffering a heart attack. His remains are interred at Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
