VICTOR BUONO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Victor Buono was born on February 3rd, 1938 in San Diego, California with the birth name Charles Victor Buono to parents Victor Francis Buono and Myrtle Belle.  His grandmother used to perform in Vaudeville which is where he first developed an interest in entertainment.  Originally he had goals of pursuing a career as a doctor, however when he became involved in a number of school productions during high school, he re evaluated his career thoughts and instead decided he wanted to pursue a career in entertainment.

He began by finding work locally in San Diego on a number of radio and small local television programs.  When he turned eighteen he began doing some professional stage work in such productions as, "A Midsummer Nights Dream", "Knight of the Burning Pestle" and "Hamlet".

While performing at the Globe Theatre a agent for Warner Brothers took notice of Buono and decided to screen test him.  Soon, Buono was appearing on Television series such as, "77 Sunset Strip" and the film, "What Ever Happened to baby Jane?" (1962) for which he was nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar.

A number of film roles continued to come his way with roles in "The Strangler" (1964), "Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte" (1964), "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (1965), "4 for Texas" (1963), "Robin and the 7 Hoods" (1964), "The Silencers" (1966), "Who's Minding the Mint?" (1967) and "The Mad Butcher" (1971).

Along with his talent seen on the stage and in films, he also had some memorable television moments on " The Wild Wild West" (1965) and "Backstairs at the White House" (1979).

His career was at an all time high when sadly a fatal heart attack took his life at the tender age of forty three on January 1st, 1982 in Apple Valley, California.  Victor never married throughout his lifetime as he chose to hide his homosexual identity.  Prior to his passing he had just been offered a role in the Broadway production, "Whodunnit?"

He will always be remembered for the television series role as the villainous King Tut and Count Manzeppi from "Batman" (1966) and "The Wild Wild West" (1965).
