VERONICA CARTWRIGHT BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Veronica Cartwright was born on April 20th, 1949 in Bristol, England. As a teenager she began her involvement in acting and began appearing in a number of films such as, "The Children's Hour" (1961), "Spencer's Mountain" (1963) starring Henry Fonda, Maureen O'Hara, James MacArthur, Wally Cox and Jack Elam which was the model used for the television series "The Waltons" (1972-1978) starring Ralph Waite, Michael Learned, Will Geer, Ellen Corby and Richard Thomas, and Alfred Hitchcock's suspense thriller "The Birds" (1963) starring Rod Taylor, Tippi Hedren, Jessica Tandy and Suzanne Pleshette.
Her level of popularity really took off after she was cast in the television series, "Daniel Boone" which aired between 1964 and 1966. Soon she began adding more substantial film roles to her resume such as, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1978) starring Kevin McCarthy, Dana Wynter and Carolyn Jones, "Alien" (1979), "The Right Stuff" (1983) starring Scott Glenn, Ed Harris, Fred Ward, Dennis Quaid, Barbara Hershey, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Shepard, "Robert Kennedy & His Times" (1985), "Flight of the Navigator" (1986), "The Witches of Eastwick" (1987) starring Jack Nicholson, Cher Sarkisian, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon, "Tanner '88" (1988), "Money Talks" (1997), "Scary Movie 2" (2001) and "Straight-Jacket" (2004).
Along with film work she also appeared on a number of other television series such as, "Zane Grey Theatre", "Death Valley Days", "L.A. Law", "Leave it to Beaver", "The Eleventh Hour", "Dr. Kildare", "The Twilight Zone", "Mannix", "Make Room for Daddy", "ER", "George & Leo", "The X Files", "Without a Trace", "Six Feet Under", "Boston Legal" and "The Closer".
She also appeared as a stage actress in such productions as, "Electra", "Talley's Folly", "Homesteaders", "Butterflies are Free" and "The Triplet Connection".
Most recent roles include roles on the television series, "Drop Dead Diva" (2010), "Memphis Beat" (2010), "Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil" (2010), "Revenge" (2012), and the films, "Montana Amazon" (2011) starring Olympia Dukakis, Haley Joel Osment, Alison Brie and Haley Pullos, "Insight" (2011), "The Yellow Wallpaper" (2011), "Adventures of the Dunderheads" (2012) and "The Odd Way Home" to release in 2013.
Veronica Cartwright has married three times throughout her lifetime, first in 1968 to Richard Gates but this marriage came to an end in 1972. She then married Stanley Goldstein in 1976 however this marriage was also short-lived. Her third husband was Richard Compton whom she wed in 1982 and they had one child together and remained married until he passed away in 2007.
