TYNE DALY BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Tyne Daly was born on February 21st, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin.  Her father, James Daly was an established actor as well as her younger brother Timothy Daly.  Her family raised her in Westchester County in New York and as a child she would perform in summer stock alongside her family members.
 
Daly went on to study at Brandeis University followed by attending The American Musical and Dramatic Academy.  Her career began as a stage actress performing on Broadway in such productions as "That Summer" (1967).  She followed with other Broadway roles later in her career in such productions as "Gypsy" (1989), "City Center Encores" (1995), "Rabbit Hole" (2006) and "Me, Myself and I" (2008). 
 
She is most well remembered for her television roles on "Cagney and Lacey" as well as in the series "Judging Amy" (1999-2005) and "Christy".  She also appeared on a number of television movies such as "Undercover Christmas" (2003).      
 
Her film roles consist of big screen features such as "John and Mary" (1969) and "The Enforcer" (1976) starring Clint Eastwood. 
 
Tyne Daly married Georg Sanford Brown who was also an actor as well as a director and they remained together from 1966 through 1990.  They had three children together.   
 
Throughout her career she has won a total of six Emmy Awards and also a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in the musical "Gypsy: A Musical Fable" (1989).  She currently continues to work as an actress with her latest role being in 2010 in "Burn Notice" and she also appeared in, Celebrate Hope which was a concert honoring Bob Hope in 2011.
