TOMMY LEE JONES BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Tommy Lee Jones was born on September 15th, 1946 in San Saba, Texas to parents Clyde C. and Lucille Marie Scott Jones. As a boy he attended St. Mark's School of Texas which was a very well known and highly regarded prep school for boys and after completing his early education there he was offered a scholarship to Harvard where he graduated cum laude in 1969 with a degree in English literature.
After completing all his formal education, Jones chose to relocate to New York City and attempt pursuing a career as a stage actor. It did not take long for him to be working on Broadway being cast in such productions as "A Patriot For Me" (1969). Within a year he was working in the film industry with his film debut in "Love Story" (1970) starring Ryan O'Neal, Ali MacGraw, John Marley and Ray Milland, followed by some of his more known film roles in "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1980) starring with Sissy Spacek as Loretta Lynn plus Beverly D'Angelo, Bob Hannah, William Sanderson, Levon Helm, Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff and Ernest Tubb, "The Fugitive" (1993) starring with Harrison Ford, Sela Ward and Julianne Moore to name a few, "No Country for Old Men" (2007) co-starring Javier Bardem, Woody Harrelson and Josh Brolin, "Man of the House" (2005). He continued to appear both on stage, films and on television in such series as the soap opera "One Life to Live" (1968) and on Broadway in such productions as "Fortune and Men's Eyes" (1969), "Four on a Garden" (1971) and "Blue Boys" (1972).
Jones television appearances consisted of roles on "Charlie's Angels" (1976), "Smash Up on Interstate 5" (1978) and "The Amazing Howard Hughes" (1977). He also became involved in directing with his directing debut for the television film, "The Good Old Boys" (1995).
Along with working as an actor, Jones was also a cattle rancher and enjoys playing polo and raising polo ponies.
Tommy Lee Jones married a total of three times throughout his lifetime, first to Kate Lardner in 1971 and they had no children before this marriage ended in divorce in 1978. He then married Kimberlea Cloughley in 1981 and they had two children together and remained married until 1996. He then chose to wed for a third time to Dawn Jones in 2001 and they remain married today.
He currently lives in Terrell Hills, Texas and owns a large ranch in San Saba Texas as well as another ranch in Van Horn, Texas. He also signed in 2008 to be a spokes person for Chesapeake Energy for a public relations campaign to promote shale gas.
