TOM BERENGER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Tom Berenger was born on May 31st, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois with the birth name Thomas Michael Moore. He graduated from Rich East High School in 1967 and then enrolled at the university of Missouri where he studied journalism. During college he took up acting and began performing in a number of school productions such as, "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe?".
After graduating from college he began performing in regional theater and soon broke into the film industry adding such credits to his resume as, "Rush It" (1976), "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" (1977) starring Diane Keaton, Tuesday Weld and Richard Gere, "In Praise of Older Women" (1978) "The Dogs of War" (1980) co-starring Barbara Hershey, "The Big Chill" (1983), "Platoon" (1986) starring Charlie Sheen and an early career performance for an up an coming star Johnny Depp, "Someone to Watch Over Me" (1987) and "Major League" (1989).
He had now made quite a name or himself in the industry and he continued to add more prominent film roles to his resume starring in, "Born on the Fourth of July" (1989), "Shattered" (1991), "Sliver" (1993) and "Chasers" (1994).
In addition to his acting he worked on the other side of the industry as a producer for the television movies, "The Avenging Angel" (1995), the 1997 mini-series, "Rough Riders" and most recently in 2003 on the television series, "Peacemakers".
He has also added numerous television appearances to his resume on such series as, "Cheers", "Dream On", "Law & Order", "Ally McBeal", "October Road" and "XIII: The Series".
Most recently, Berenger has been seen on the films, "Bucksville" (2011), "Brake" (2012), "Quad" (2011) and the new hit television series, "Hatfields & McCoys" (2012).
Tom Berenger has married three times throughout his lifetime, first to Barbara Wilson whom he married in 1976 and they had two children together before the marriage ended in divorce in 1984. He then married Lisa Williams in 1986 and had three daughters with her before this marriage also came to an end in 1997. His third wife was Patricia Alvaran and they also have one daughter together and wed in 1998. In 2011, this marriage also came to an end.
When he is not working in the industry, he owns a home in Beaufort, South Carolina.
