TIMOTHY HUTTON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Timothy Hutton was born on August 16th, 1960 in Malibu, California with the middle name Tarquin, born to Maryline Adams and actor Jim Hutton, most well known for his television role as Ellery Queen in the 1970's and the 1968 films "Hellfighters" and "The Green Berets", both starring John Wayne. After his parents divorce he moved with his mother to Boston and when he was twelve they came back to live in California. He began developing an interest in acting while in the ninth grade.
By the time he was twenty years old he was already finding work as an actor. He began with appearing on a number of television movies such as, "Friendly Fire" also starring Carol Burnett, Ned Beatty and Sam Waterston, "The Best Place to Be" and "And Baby Makes Six" (all 1979).
He then became the youngest actor to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1980 for his role on the film, "Ordinary People" (1980) at the age of 20. Since this role he has added over seventy film credits to his resume with some of the more well known roles in, "Taps" (1981) starring with George C. Scott, Sean Penn and Tom Cruise, "The Falcon and the Snowman" (1985) starring alongside Sean Penn, Pat Hingle and Joyce Van Patten, "Playing God" (1992) co-starring David Duchovny and Angelina Jolie, "Sunshine State" (2002) featuring Angela Bassett, Edie Falco, Jane Alexander, Alan King, Mary Steenburgen and Bill Cobbs and "The Ghost Writer" (2010) also starring Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams and Eli Wallach.
Some of his more well know television roles include, "A Nero Wolfe Mystery", "WW3", "Kidnapped", "5ive Days to Midnight" and "Leverage" (2008-2012).
Along with working on film and television, Hutton has also had the chance to work as a stage actor on Broadway where he debuted in 1989 in the play, "Love Letters". He has also worked as a director on the film, "Digging to China" (1998) and directed a couple episodes of the television series, "A Nero Wolfe Mystery" and the music video for, "The House Rules".
Timothy Hutton has married twice, first to actress Debra Winger in 1986 and they had one child together before the marriage came to an end in 1990. He is currently married to Aurore Giscard d'Estaing whom he wed in 2000 and they have one child together.
