Stu Erwin ACTOR

Stuart Erwin was born on February 14th, 1903 in Squaw Valley, California and attended college at the University of Berkley.  He then became involved in acting working as a stage performer in Los Angeles.  He then became involved in the film industry, first appearing in silent films such as, "A Pair of Tights" (1928).
He did his first "talkie" role on the film, "Happy Days" (1929). followed by a role in the film, "The Big Broadcast" (1932).  He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the film, "Pigskin Parade" (1936) in which he portrayed a football hero.  He also appeared on the film, "Blondie for Victory" (1942).  He gave stage acting a try on a role in Broadway, but did not find it to be what he wanted out of his career.
Erwin also took advantage of a decent television career, co starring with his wife on a sitcom called, "The Stu Erwin Show" also known as "The Trouble With Father" (1950-1955).  Stu remained working for quite some time and worked on some Walt Disney films and on another television series in 1963 called, "The Greatest Show on Earth".
Stu Erwin married only once to June Collyer on July 22nd, 1931 and they had two children together, Stuart and Judy.  They remained married until he passed away on December 21st, 1967 in Beverly Hills, California after suffering from a heart attack.
