STEVE BUSCEMI BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Steve Buscemi was born on December 13th, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York with the birth name Steven Vincent Buscemi, born to Dorothy and John Buscemi. It was not until he began attending, Valley Stream Central High School that he developed an interest in acting. He decided after high school to relocate to Manhattan and studied acting with John Strasberg at the Lee Strasberg Institute.
While living in New York between 1980 and 1984 he gained experience as a fire fighter and worked various other jobs to support himself such as a bartender and ice-cream truck driver. He then began to gain experience as a writer and performer with various stage productions. Soon he was appearing in a number of films such as, "Parting Glances" (1986) with John Bolger, Adam Nathan, Kathy Kinney and Patrick Tull, "Slaves of New York" (1988) co-starring Bernadette Peters, Adam Coleman Howard, Chris Sarandon, Mary Beth Hurt, Mercedes Ruehl and Madeleine Potter, "Tales from the Darkside" (1990) starring Deborah Harry, Christian Slater, David Johansen, William Hickey, Rae Dawn Chong, Julianne Moore, Dolores Sutton, Kathleen Chalfant and James Remar, "King of New York" (1990) starring Christopher Walken, Laurence Fishburne, David Caruso, Wesley Snipes, Victor Argo and Giancarlo Esposito and "Millers Crossing" (1990) starring Gabriel Byrne, Albert Finney, Marcia Gay Harden, Jon Polito and John Turturro, with the Coen Brothers' films.
Steve was also cast in "Lonesome Dove" (1989), a Western television miniseries based on Larry McMurtry's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name with an ensemble cast including Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Urich, Anjelica Huston, Ricky Schroder, Frederic Forrest, Danny Glover, Diane Lane, Chris Cooper and D. B. Sweeney among many others, drawing a huge viewing audience, earning numerous awards, and reviving both the television western and the miniseries.
Over the course of his career he has appeared in six of the Coen Brothers' films, such as, "Barton Fink" (1991) starring John Turturro and John Goodman, "The Hudsucker Proxy" (1994) starring Paul Newman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tim Robbins, Charles Durning, Anna Nicole Smith and John Goodman, "Fargo" (1996) starring with Frances McDormand, William H. Macy, Harve Presnell and Peter Stormare, "The Big Lebowski" (1998) also starring Jeff Bridges, Philip Seymour Hoffman, David Huddleston, Julianne Moore, Tara Reid and John Turturro and "Paris, je t'aime" (2006) starring an ensemble cast of actors of various nationalities.

Other films he has since directed include, "Animal Factory" (2000) starring with ars Willem Dafoe, Edward Furlong, Danny Trejo, John Heard, Mickey Rourke, Tom Arnold, Seymour Cassel and Mark Boone Jurior, "Lonesome Jim" (2005) starring Casey Affleck, Liv Tyler, Mary Kay Place, Seymour Cassel, Mark Boone Junior and Kevin Corrigan, "Interview" (2007) with Danny Schechter and Sienna Miller and the television series, "Homicide: Life on the Street", "The Sopranos", "Oz", "30 Rock" and "Nurse Jackie".
For his role on, "Boardwalk Empire", he has earned two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe and also received two Emmy nominations. He was also previously honored with an Emmy nomination for his role on, "The Sopranos". He is very well known and very well liked in the industry and has worked alongside such names as, Tim Burton, Adam Sandler, Quentin Tarantino and Michael Bay.
Steve Buscemi has married only once to Jo Andres in 1987 and they have one child and remain married today. Most recently he has appeared on the television series, "30 Rock" (2007-2012), "Boardwalk Empire" (2010-2012), the films, "On the Road" (2012) starring Sam Riley, Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Alice Braga, Amy Adams, Elisabeth Moss, Tom Sturridge and Kirsten Dunst, "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" (2013) co-starring James Gandolfini, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde and Steve Carell and voiceover work for the films, "Hotel Transylvania" (2012) which also features the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Jon Lovitz, Cee Lo Green, Molly Shannon and David Spade and "Monsters University" (2013).
