SAMANTHA EGGAR BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Samantha Eggar was born on March 5th, 1939 in Hampstead, London with the birth name Victoria Louise Samantha Marie Elizabeth Therese, born to Ralph and Muriel. She received her formal education at St. Mary's Providence Convent in Woking, Surrey.
Eggar's career as an actress began on stage appearing in a number of Shakespearean companies. After gaining some years of experience as a stage actress she soon began to working in the film industry.
Her film debut was in 1962 in, "The Wild and the Willing". Soon more film roles followed such as, "Dr. Cippen" (1962), "Walk Don't Run" (1966) and "The Collector" (1965), a role for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
Other film roles she has added to her credits over the course of her career are in, "Curtains", "Doctor Dolittle", "The Molly Maguires", "Dark Horse" (1992) and "The Light at the Edge of the World" (1971).
Along with film she has added such television credits to her resume as, "Anna and the King" (1972), "Columbo" (1977), "Magnum, P.I." (1984), "Heartbeat" (1989), "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1990), "ABC Weekend Specials" (1994), "All My Children" (2000), "She Spies" (2003), "Cold Case" (2004), "Commander in Chief" (2005-2006) and her latest role was in 2011 on, "The Nine Lives of Chloe King".
She has also done voice over work for such projects as, "Hercules" (1997), the video game, "James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing", "Siegfried & Roy: Masters of the Impossible" (1996), "The Magic Voyage" (1992) and "PJ Sparkles" (1992).
Samantha Eggar has married only once to Tom Stern in 1964 and they had two children before the marriage ended in divorce in 1971. She has not re-married and remains working in the industry.
