SALLY STRUTHERS BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Sally Struthers was born on July 28th, 1947 in Portland, Oregon with the birth name Sally Anne Struthers, born to Margaret Caroline and Robert Alden Struthers. After she graduated from Grant High School, Struthers began to pursue a career in entertainment.
Struthers relocated to Los Angeles, California and began training at the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts. She then began appearing in a number of stage productions before breaking into the industry as a commercial actress.
She became most well known for her role portraying, Gloria Stivic on the television series, "All in the Family", a role for which she won two Emmy's in 1972 and again in 1979 which co-starred Carroll O'Connor, Jean Stapleton and Rob Reiner.
Her career began to really take off when she was cast in the film, "Five Easy Pieces" (1970) starring Jack Nicholson, Karen Black, Susan Anspach and Ralph Waite. Other film roles she soon began to add to her credits early on in her career included, "The Getaway" (1972) starring Steve McQueen, Ali MacGraw, Ben Johnson, Al Lettieri, Slim Pickens, Bo Hopkins and Dub Taylor and the television movies, "…And Your Name is Jonah" (1979) with James Woods, Randee Heller and Titos Vandis and "A Gun in the House" (1981) also starring David Ackroyd, Dick Anthony Williams and Joel Bailey.
Struthers really began to make a name for herself as a television actress appearing on such series as, "Still Standing", "Gilmore Girls", "General Hospital", "Murder, She Wrote", "Nine to Five" and "Gloria".
She also worked numerous voice over projects such as, "The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show", "TaleSpin" and "Dinosaurs".
Alongside her film and television work, Struthers has also added various stage credits to her resume such as, "Wally's Café", "Annie" and "Grease".
When she is not working in the industry she is well known for her involvement in the organization, The ChildFund International hoping to find a way to assist children starving in under developed countries.
Sally Struthers married only once to Dr. William C. Rader in 1977 and they had one daughter together before the marriage came to an end in 1983. Most recently she has appeared in the films, "Monster Heroes" (2010) starring Danny Cistone and Brent Tarnol, "Hollywood Musical!" (2011) starring Alexander Baack and Hillary Baackand she did voice over work for the television series, "American Dad!" (2011) as the voice of Clara.
