RUSS TAMBLYN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Russ Tamblyn was born on December 30th, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to parents Eddie Tamblyn and Sally Triplett who were both working actors. As a young boy growing up around parents in the entertainment industry, Tamblyn began to show an interest in acting. At the age of six he began taking gymnastic and dancing lessons.
By the age of ten another actor by the name of Lloyd Bridges discovered Tamblyn after he saw him acting in a stage play. With Bridges help along with the connections Tamblyn's parents had he was cast in his first film, "The Boy With Green Hair" (1948) followed by an appearance on, "The Ed Sullivan Show".
As he became a teenage actor he was seen in such films as, "The Kid from Cleveland" (1949),"Gun Crazy" (1950), "Father of the Bride" (1950), "Take The High Ground" (1953) and his biggest role yet in the film, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" (1954).
Transitioning from a child actor in the industry to a working adult actor was not too difficult for Tamblyn. As his career progressed he was seen on such films as, "The Fastest Gun Alive" (1956), "High School Confidential" (1958), "West Side Story" (1961) and "How the West Was Won" (1962).
He continued to work during the mid 60's, but offers were not as frequent. He was seen in a couple other films such as, "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm" (1962), "The Long Ships" (1964) and "Follow the Boys" (1963) and "The Last Movie" (1971).
Russ began turning to television roles to continue making a living appearing on such series as, "Quantum Leap", "Fame", "Twin Peaks", "Burke's Law", "Gunsmoke", "Iron Horse" and the soap opera's, "Days of Our Lives" and "General Hospital". Tamblyn's most recent role was in 2011 in, "Drive".
He has married three times throughout his lifetime, first to Venetia Stevenson whom he wed in 1956 and they were together only one year. His second marriage was to Sheila Elizabeth Kepton briefly in 1960 and they had two children together before this marriage too, ended in divorce. He is currently married to his third wife, Bonnie and they have one child together.
