ROBERT LIVINGSTON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Robert Livingston was born on December 9th, 1904 in Quincy, Illinois with the birth name Robert Edgar Randall.  His father was a newspaper editor.  When he completed high school he worked as a reporter for the Los Angeles daily news and did a story on the Pasadena Playhouse.  It was this that sparked his interest in acting.   

He began with working on films taking small parts for Universal and Fox Pictures and then got involved with MGM working on romantic films for them.  He was just a small time actor until he got his real first big break with Republic studios in 1936 working on the serial, "The Vigilantes Are Coming" (1936).  From this point on he was being cast in more films incorporating a cowboy role and even got the lead on, "Three Mesquiteers" series for a total of 29 appearances playing the original Stony Brook.    
 
As time progressed he got a number more of roles in cowboy films such as, "The Bold Caballero" (1936) and the series, "The Lone Rider" (1941-1943).  He also had a brother who worked as an actor, Addison Randall, however he suffered a horse riding accident and his life was cut short.    
Robert Livingston only married once to Margaret Roach on December 18th, 1947 and they remained together until they divorced on March 28th, 1951 having just one child.  In 1987, he was awarded a Golden Boot Award and just one year later, on March 7th, 1988 he passed away in Tarzana, California from complications of emphysema.  He was buried in Glendale's Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
