ROBERT FULLER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Robert Fuller was born on July 29th, 1933 in Troy, New York with the birth name Buddy Lee. He was born an only child and raised by his mother, Betty and step father, Robert Simpson Sr. who worked as a dance teacher as well as a Naval Academy officer.
Fuller's parents divorced when he was six and he moved with his mother and step father to Key West, Florida. Since his parents owned a dance school, he became involved in lessons from an early age. After high school, Fuller earned his college degree from Miami Military Academy in 1952. He then traveled to Los Angeles, California with his parents and found work as a stuntman.
Living in Hollywood it did not take him long to break into the film industry with small roles on such films as, "I Love Melvin" (1953) and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (1953). Just as his career was beginning to take off, he was drafted into the Korean War. Upon completing his service at the age of twenty two he returned to acting and began to perfect the art by taking lessons at Richard Boone's acting class.
Soon he was back on track working on more films such as, "Friendly Persuasion" (1956), "Teenage Thunder" (1957), "The Brain from Planet Arous" (1957) and the television series, "Laramie" (1959), the role that brought his popularity to a whole new level of stardom. This western series was highly successful and he was considered a 'sex symbol' by many fans. When the series came to an end, Fuller had no issues finding more work, being cast on another series, "Wagon Train" (1963) and "Emergency!" (1972).
Along with working on television, he continued taking on film roles and appeared in, "The Hard Ride" (1971), "Megaforce" (1982) and "Finder of Lost Loves" (1985). When the series, "Emergency!" ended in 1979 he continued to work never slowing down for a moment. Some of his latest television appearances were on such shows as, "The Love Boat", "The Fall Guy", "Diagnosis Murder", "Bonanza", Murder, She Wrote" and his last appearance on television, "Walker, Texas Ranger".
Fuller is now retired from the industry and remains married to his second wife, Jennifer Savidge whom he wed in 2001. Prior to this marriage he was married once before to Patricia Lee Lyon from 1962 through 1984. He has three children, Rob, Christine and Patrick.
