ROBERT BEATTY BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
Robert Beatty was born on October 19th, 1909 in Hamilton, Ontario.  He began his career in acting in Britain and later became a very well known Canadian actor.
 
Some of his film credits include, "San Demetrio London" (1943), "Another Shore" (1948), "Captain Horatio Hornblower" (1951) starring Gregory Peck, "The Square Ring" (1953), "The Amorous Prawn" (1962), "2001 A Space Odessey" (1968), "Where Eagles Dare" (1968) starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood, "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" (1976), "Superman III" (1983), "Minder on the Orient Express" (1985) and "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" (1987).  
 
Along with working as a film actor he also made numerous television appearances mostly in Britain on such shows as, "Dial 999", "Doctor Who", "Blake's 7", "The Gathering Storm", "The New Avengers" and "Minder".   

In addition to his acting work he became well known working as a radio actor.  Some of those credits included, "Shadow of Sumuru", "The Big Sleep" and "Pay Any Price".   

Robert Beatty passed away at the age of eighty two on March 3rd, 1992 in London, United Kingdom and his remains were cremated at Putney Vale Crematorium.
