RACHEL BILSON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Rachel Bilson was born on August 25th, 1981 in Los Angeles, California with the birth name Rachel Sarah Bilson. Her father, Danny Bilson was a writer, director and producer and so she was introduced to the show business life growing up and her mother was Janice Stango who was employed as a sex therapist. At the age of nine her parents divorced and her father later on in 1997 re-married. While attending Notre Dame High School she began acting and performed in such stage productions as, “Bye Bye Birdie”, “Once Upon a Mattress” and “The Crucible”. After earning her diploma in 1999, she enrolled at Grossmont College, but was only enrolled for one year before she decided to pursue a career as an actress.
Her career began with making a number of commercial appearances for such products as Subway, Raisin Bran and Pepto-Bismol. She also worked on a couple television shows such as, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter”, before she received her big break with the role of Summer Roberts in the film, “The O.C.” (2003).
In 2006 she was cast in her first film role, “The Last Kiss” followed by roles in, “Jumper” (2006) and ”New York, I Love You” (2008).
Other credits added to her resume are appearing as a guest judge on, “Project Runway” (2009) and is also starring on the hit TV series, “Hart of Dixie” (2011).
Bilson continues to live in Hollywood and has been honored in a number of ways throughout her career in Hollywood such as being chosen in 2005 at the Teen Choice Awards for, “Choice Hottie Female”, “Choice TV Actress (Drama)” and “Best Onscreen TV Chemistry” as well as being named #6 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 Women for 2005 as well as being ranked #37 by the same magazine on their Hot 100 Women of the year in 2007 and #28 in 2008.
She has been in a number of relationships and was briefly engaged but has yet to marry and has no children yet of her own.
Rachel does own her own shoe line and also created an Edie Rose clothing line with DKNY Jeans.
