PIERCE BROSNAN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Pierce Brosnan was born on May 16th, 1953 in Navan, Ireland with the birth name Pierce Brendan Brosnan. His parents, Thomas and May had only one child. As a young boy his family relocated to England so his mother could work as a nurse and his father later on in his childhood abandoned his family.
He spent most of his childhood being raised by his grandparents and when they passed on, he lived with his aunt and uncle and later a lady by the name of Eileen raised him. He then reunited with his mother who had re-married and spent the remainder of his childhood in Scotland.
At the age of sixteen he dropped out of High School and began working in commercial illustration and trained at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. He also took acting lessons at the Drama Centre in London and graduated in 1975.
He first became involved in acting working as a assistant stage manager at the York Theatre Royal. He then found work as a stage actor in such productions as, "Wait Until Dark" and "The Red Devil Battery Sign". Later in his career he began getting cast in a number of television series and small film roles. Some of his early television roles were in, "Moonlighting" (1987) and "Remington Steele" (1982-1987).
After some small film roles in, "The Long Good Friday" (1980) and "The Deceivers" (1988), he began getting larger more prominent roles in, "Death Train" (1993), "Dante's Peak" (1997) and "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999).
By this time Pierce had relocated to California in search of better film opportunities. His biggest role was becoming the fifth actor to portray James Bond in the "James Bond series". Between 1995 and 2002 he starred in five James Bond films such as, "GoldenEye" (1995) and "Die Another Day" (2002). He also became involved in the James Bond Video Game, "Nightfire" (2002) followed in 2004 in another video game, "Everything or Nothing".
Although his last James Bond film was in 2005, he continues to work in the industry appearing in such films as, "The Matador" (2005), "Seraphim Falls" (2007), "Mamma Mia!" (2008), "The Big Bizarro" (2009) also known as "The Ace", "The Ghost Writer" (2010) and soon to release, "All You Need is Love" and "The House Gun" set to release in 2012.
Along with his career as an actor, he also owns a production company called, Irish DreamTime which was started in 1996 along with Beau St. Clair. Their film, "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999) became a box office success.
Throughout his lifetime Pierce has married twice first to Cassandra Harris in 1980 and they had three children, Christopher and Charlotte are his step children and Sean is his biological son. They remained married until she passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of forty three on December 28th, 1991. He then married Keely Shaye Smith in 2001 and they have two sons, Dylan Thomas and Paris Beckett Bronson and they remain married today.
Not only has he built up a great resume and a good reputation in Hollywood, he is also involved in a number of charitable organizations such as being an Ambassador for UNICEF Ireland since 2001 and is also involved with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). He also sells some of his personal paintings and uses the proceeds to donate to various charities. He is a big advocate for cancer awareness. Pierce currently resides in Malibu, California with his wife and family and remains active in Hollywood.
