PETER FONDA BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Peter Fonda was born on February 23rd, 1940 in New York City, New York with the birth name Peter Henry Fonda.  His father Henry Fonda was a famous actor and his sister, Jane Fonda was a working actress too.  

As a young boy at the age of ten he accidentally shot himself in the stomach but survived the injury.  He received his college education at the university of Omaha.  After completing his schooling he became involved in the acting industry, first appearing at the Omaha Playhouse in, "Harvey" and then moved to New York and worked as an apprentice at Cecilwood Theatre.  Then he went on to work on Broadway in the production, "Blood, Sweat and Stanley Poole".  Soon the doors for him opened in Hollywood and he made the move west to begin working in the film industry.  

His first role was portraying John F. Kennedy in "PT 109" (1963) followed by such film roles as "Tammy and the Doctor" (1963), "Victors" (1964), "Young Lovers" (1964), "The Wild Angels" (1966) and "The Trip" (1967).  

Along with building a successful film career, Fonda also became involved in recording music in 1968 recording a 45 for the Chrisa label, "November Night".  This same year he took a chance at other work in the industry working as a producer and also starring in the biker classic "Easy Rider" (1969) with Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper, a film that he became most well known for.  Next he directed the film "The Hired Hand" and also worked as the lead.  A number of other films followed such as "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" (1974), "Open Season" (1974), "Outlaw Blues" (1976) and "Cannonball Run" (1981).  

In 1997 he starred in the film, "Ulee's Gold" for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for best Actor and in 2007 he made a great comeback to the big screen in, "3:10 to Yuma".   
 
Peter Fonda has married a total of three times throughout his life time, first to Susan Brewer from 1961 through 1974 and together they had two children, Bridgett and Justin.  His second marriage was to Portia Rebecca Crockett from 1975 through early 2011.  He is currently married to his third wife, Margaret DeVogelaere whom he wed on June 19th, 2011. 
 
In the year 2000, Fonda was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and since 1975 he has owned a permanent home in Paradise Valley, Montana.  He continues to make occasional appearances on films with his latest work in production for the film, "Banker to the Poor" (2011).
