Peter Brown ACTOR

Peter Brown was born on October 5th, 1935 in New York City, New York with the birth name Pierre de Lappe.  He was the second of four brothers.  He was raised in Spokane Washington and as a child was slightly involved in entertaining on a number of radio shows where he made small appearances.
After graduating from North Central High School, he served in the army.  To amuse himself during his free time he organized a theater group on base and decided he enjoyed performing.
When he completed his military service he decided to study drama at UCLA for a semester and had plans to go onto complete his degree but was told he had a real talent for acting.  He began working as a stage actor in Los Angeles and found work as a gas station attendant in the evenings.  He was actually discovered by Jack L. Warner pumping gas one night and was signed to a contract with Warner Brothers immediately.

He began working on a variety of films such as "Darby's Rangers" (1958), "The Commies Are Coming, The Commies Are Coming" (1957) and "Onionhead" (1958).   Many remember him from his most well known roles on the western series "Lawman" (1958) and "Laredo" (1965).
When his contract came to an end with Universal Pictures, Brown continued to work in the industry in a number of television shows and soap operas.  He made appearances on such shows as "Ride the Wild Surf" (1964), "The Virginian" (1964-1967), "The Bob Newhart Show" (1972), "Days of Our Lives" (1972-1979), "One Life To Live" (1986-1987) and "The Bold and The Beautiful" (1991-1992).

Peter Brown has married a total of five times throughout his lifetime.  His first wife was Diane Jergens whom he was only married to for one year, from 1958 through 1959.  His second marriage was to Sandy Edmundson whom he wed in 1964 and had one child before ending the marriage.  He then entered a marriage to Yvette Safargy from 1971 to 1974.  Brown chose to marry for a fourth time to Mary Kathleen Gauba in 1986 and they remained together until 1999.  His fifth marriage was to Kerstin Kern in 2008 and they remain together today.

Brown also runs his own production company called Handshake Films and his last known roles were both in 2005 on, "Hell to Pay" and "Three Bad Men".   He continues to make occasional appearances at collector shows mostly geared towards western fans and in very involved in celebrity charity sporting events.
