Ned Beatty ACTOR

Ned Beatty was born on July 6th, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky with the middle name Thomas, born to Margaret Fortney and Charles William Beatty.  As a young boy he would sing in the local choir at church and after high school he was offered a scholarship to sing in the cappella choir at Transylvania university in Kentucky.
Prior to earning a college degree he left school to focus on a full time career in entertainment.  He began with working as a stage actor appearing in such productions as, "Wilderness Road", "Death of a Salesman", "The Great White Hope" and "The Accidental Death of an Anarchist".
Soon he was adding such film credits to his resume as, "Deliverance" (1972) starring Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds, "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" (1972) starring Paul Newman, "White Lightning" (1973), "W.W. and the Dixie Dancekings" (1975), "Nashville" (1975) and "Network" (1976), a role for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Now he had begun to make a name for himself in Hollywood and more successful film roles followed such as, "Silver Streak" (1976), "All the President's Men" (1976) starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, "Superman" (1978) starring Christopher Reeve, "Superman II" (1980) and "Stroker Ace" (1983).
However, as his career entered the mid 1980's, although he was still working in the film industry his roles were not all as successful as his earlier career.  He did however add a couple prominent roles to his resume such as, "The Big Easy" (1986), "Hear My Song" (1991), "Prelude to a Kiss" (1992), "Just Cause" (1995), "He Got Game" (1998), "Cookie's Fortune" (1999), "Spring Forward" (1999).
Beatty also appeared in numerous television movies such as, "Gulliver's Travels" (1996), "Back to Hannibal: The Return of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn" (1990), "The Boys" (1993), "Streets of Laredo" (1995) and such television series as, "Highway to Heaven", "Law & Order", "C.S.I.", "Roseanne", "Murder, She Wrote", "American Playhouse" and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents".
Ned never neglected his first love of live theater and has added alter in his career such theatrical credits as, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (2001).
More recently he has graced the screen with roles in, "Where the Red Farm Grows" (2003), "The Walker" (2007), "Shooter" (2007) "In the Electric Mist" (2009), "The Killer Inside me" (2010) and "Teddy Bears" which is set to release in 2013.  He has also done voice over work for such films as, "Toy Story 3" (2010), "Toy Story 3: The Video Game" (2010) and "Rango" (2010).
Ned Beatty has married four times, first to Walta Abbott in 1959 and they had four children before they divorced in 1968.  He then married his second wife, Belinda Beatty in 1971 and together they had two children before the marriage came to an end in 1979.  His third time to wed was in 1979 to Dorothy Tinker Lindsey and they also had two children before another failed marriage ended in 1998.  He is currently married to his fourth wife, Sandra Johnson whom he married in 1999 and they own a home in Los Angeles, California as well as near her family in Minnesota.
