MONTAGUE LOVE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
Montague Love was born on March 15th, 1880 in Portsmouth, England with the birth name Harry Montague Love.  His first career was as a newspaper man in London working as a field illustrator and cartoonist.

Soon he decided to make a career change and pursue a career as an actor.  He began with finding work as a stage actor in London and after gaining some years of experience, he decided to relocate to the United States in 1913 and found work with a touring company.  He performed in such productions as, "Grumpy".
 
By 1914 he began to break into the film industry with World Studios.  He worked on a number of silent films such as, "The Suicide Club" (1914), "The Greater Will" (1915), "The Hidden Scar" (1916), "The Men She Married" (1916) and "Forget-Me-Not" (1917), among many others.
 
As his career progressed he began to add more prominent roles to his resume appearing on such films as, "Forever" (1921), "The Son of the Sheik" (1926) starring the great Rudolph Valentino, "Don Juan" (1926) starring John Barrymore, Mary Astor, Warner Oland and Hedda Hopper, "The King of Kings" (1927) starring H.B. Warner and Joseph Schildkraut, "The Wind" (1928), "Synthetic Sin" (1929) and "The Mysterious Island" (1929) starring Lionel Barrymore.  
 
Some of his most well known roles were in the films, "Prince and the Pauper" (1937) starring Errol Flynn and portraying Henry VIII, as the Bishop of the Black Canons in, "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938) starring Errol Flynn and playing the henchman in, "The Prisoner of Zenda" (1937) starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Ronald Colman, Mary Astor, David Niven and Raymond Massey.
 
Throughout his career Montague Love appeared in over one hundred films and his final film role was in, "Devotion" which was released three years after he passed away.  He married twice, first from 1908 through 1928 to a woman by the name of Gertrude.  When this marriage came to an end he wed his second wife, Marjorie Hollis in 1929 and they remained together until he passed away on May 17th, 1943 in Beverly Hills, California.  His remains were cremated at the Chapel of the Pines Crematory.
