MONA FREEMAN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Mona Freeman was born on June 9th, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland with the birth name Monica Elizabeth Freeman. During High School she was already working as a paid model and became a successful teenage cover girl for John Robert Powers as well as of the "Miss Subway" girls in New York.
Soon she began seeking work as an actress and she was first signed to an acting contract with Howard Hughes. Later on her contract was sold to Paramount Pictures. It was not so hard for her to gain popularity as a teenage actress and she was quite beautiful and also a very talented actress.
Some of her earlier roles were in such films as, "Together Again" (1944), "Junior Miss" (1945), "That Brennan Girl' (1946), "Mother Wore Tights" (1947) starring Betty Grable and "Streets of Laredo" (1949) starring William Holden, William Bendix and Macdonald Carey.
As she began to get older, successful film roles were becoming less available to her and she had to limit her self to 'B' rated film such as, "Flesh and Fury" (1952), "Shadow of Fear" (1954) and "Battle Cry" (1955).
Although, film roles were not being offered to her, Freeman did not completely retire from acting, instead she chose to pursue other opportunities working on television appearing in such series as, "Playhouse 90" (1956-1958), "The Red Skelton Hour" (1958-1959), "Maverick" (1959-1960), "The Tall Man" (1961), "Branded" (1966) and her latest appearance on the television movie, "Welcome Home, Johnny Bristol" (1972).
Freeman has married twice throughout her lifetime. Her first husband was Pat Nerney whom she wed in 1945 but divorced just a couple years later in 1952. She then married Jack Ellis in 1961 and together they have one child, Monie Ellis who is also a working actress today and she remains married to Jack.
