MINNIE DRIVER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Minnie Driver was born on January 31st, 1970 in Finsbury Park in London with the birth name Ameila Fiona J. Driver. Her parents were, Gaynor Churchward and Ronnie Driver. She was raised in Barbados and her interest in acting began during her high school years.
Driver had a couple small roles in England appearing on such British television series as, "Casualty", "The House of Eliott", "Lovejoy" and "Peak Practice". Her first major film role came in 1995 on, "Circle of Friends".
Soon she was adding more film credits to her resume such as, "Golden Eye" (1995) starring Pierce Brosnan as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond with Sean Bean, Izabella Scorupco, Judi Dench, Joe Don Baker and Famke Janssen, "Sleepers" (1996) starring alongside Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Brad Renfro, Vittorio Gassman, Brad Pitt and Jason Patric, "Grosse Point Blank" (1997) co-starring starring John Cusack, Alan Arkin, Mitch Ryan Joan Cusack and Dan Aykroyd and "Good Will Hunting" (1997) co-starring starring Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck and Stellan SkarsgÄrd, and a role for which she earned her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination.
Along with becoming quite successful in the film industry she also began to make quite a name for herself in America as a television actress. Some of her more well known television appearances include, "Will & Grace", "Modern Family", "Deep" and "The Riches", for which Driver earned an Emmy Award and Golden Globe nomination.
More recently, her film roles have included, "An Ideal Husband" (1999) starring with Jeremy Northam, Rupert Everett, Julianne Moore and Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett, "Return to Me" (2000) also starring starring David Duchovny, Jim Belushi, Robert Loggia, Bonnie Hunt and Carroll O'Connor, "Owning Mahowny" (2003) with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Maury Chaykin and John Hurt, "Ella Enchanted" (2004) starring Anne Hathaway, Hugh Dancy, Aidan McArdle, Vivica A. Fox, Steve Coogan, Heidi Klum and Cary Elwes, "The Phantom of the Opera" (2004) starring Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, Patrick Wilson, Miranda Richardson and Jennifer Ellison, "Delirious" (2006) also starring Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Gina Gershon, Richard Short, Callie Thorne and Kevin Corrigan and Alison Lohman, "Take" (2007) with Jeremy Renner and "Conviction" (2010) starring Hilary Swank, Juliette Lewis, Melissa Leo, Peter Gallagher and Sam Rockwell.
In addition to her career as an actress, Minnie Driver is also a singer and at one time early in her career, was a member of the band, "Puff, Rocks and Brown". In 2004, she released her debut album, "Everything I've Got In My Pocket".
She remains working as an actress and singer and has yet to marry, although she has had some public romantic relationships with such actors as, Matt Damon, John Cusack and at one point, was engaged to Josh Brolin. She does have one son, Henry Story Driver, however, the child's biological father has never been revealed.
