MARY ELIZABETH MASTRANTONIO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was born November 17th, 1958 in Lombard, Illinois, born to Mary D. and Frank A. Mastrantonio. As a teenager she began to develop an interest in acting and would perform in a number of school productions. After graduating from Oak Park River Forest High School she went on to study at the university of Illinois and soon left to relocate to New York in pursuit of a career as an actress.
She began with working as a stage actress appearing in such productions as, "West Side Story" (1981). After gaining some more stage experience, she went on to audition for the film industry and soon was appearing in such features as, "Scarface" (1983) starring Al Pacino and "The Color of Money" (1986) starring Paul Newman and Tom Cruise which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
As her career progressed she continued appearing on the big screen in such films as, "Slam Dance" (1987), "The Abyss" (1989), "Class Action" (1991), "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" (1991), "Consenting Adults" (1992) and "The Perfect Storm" (2000) starring George Clooney.
In addition to her film work she has also added to her resume such television credits as, "Without a Trace", "Frasier" and "Law & Order".
She has also added numerous stage roles to her resume such as the productions "Copperfield", "The Human Comedy", "Man of La Mancha", "Measure for Measure", "Twelfth Night", "Grand Hotel" and most recently in, "A View from the Bridge".
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has married only once to Pat O'Connor in 1990 and they have two children and currently reside in London, England. Most recently she has returned to the film industry and is in pre-production on the film, "Adam Shaw" scheduled to release in 2012.
