MARTIN MILNER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Martin Milner was born on December 28th, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan with the birth name Martin Sam Milner. His father was also named Sam and he was a film distributor and his mother was Jerry who worked as a dancer with Paramount theater.
His family soon relocated to Seattle where he first became interested in acting in school plays at the age of nine. By the time he turned fourteen his family relocated again, this time to Los Angeles, California when Milner's father helped him get an agent and get into the entertainment industry. His first role was in the film, "Life With Father" (1947) with Warner Brothers. Sadly, just as his career was beginning, he contracted Polio and had to take a whole year to recover from the illness.
He graduated from North Hollywood High School and then went onto college for one year studying at the University of Southern California. Milner did not abandon the film industry as he did continue to do his schooling and also work in the industry. He had roles on a number of films between 1949 through 1960 such as on, "Sands of Iwo Jima" (1949), "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" (1957), "Marjorie Morningstar" (1958) and "Sweet Smell of Success" (1957). He also made his first television appearance during this time on the series, "The Lone Ranger" (1950) as well as a recurring role on the sitcom, "The Stu Erwin Show" (1950).
Milner did take a brief break from appearing on the big screen when he joined the Army in 1952 and directed military training films. He did a number of more roles after completing his military service such as on, "Adam-12" (1968) and made television appearances on such shows as, "Murder, She Wrote" (1984), "MacGyver" (1985) and "Diagnosis Murder" (1993).
Martin Milner married only once on 1957 to Judith Bess Jones with who he has four children. They are still married today and he is still working in the industry hosting a show called, "Let's Talk Hook-up" (1993-2004 which is a radio show based on fishing based in San Diego, California. He has always had a passion for fishing and still today enjoys traveling and pursuing his hobby.
Milner's ailing health has lead him to retire from the industry but he still remains living in Southern California with his family.
