LYNDA CARTER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Lynda Carter was born on July 24th, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona with the birth name Linda Jean Cordova Carter and was the youngest of three children born to parents Colby and Juana. During High School at Arcadia she performed in the school band "Just Us" and at age seventeen she joined another band called, "The Relatives" and they would perform in Las Vegas. Then in 1970 she joined another band called "The Garfin Gathering with Lynda Carter" and they performed in San Francisco. Carter also began pursuing her higher education at Arizona state University, but after she was voted most talented student, she dropped out to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Along with having a decent singing career, she also entered the Miss World USA contest and won he title in 1972. Lynda began working as an actress in films and television and performed many of her own stunts. Some of her better known roles were on "Battle of the Network Stars" (1976), "Circus of the Stars #2" (1977) and "Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw" (1976), which was her only nude appearance.
Carter is known by most as the star of the 1970's television series "The New Original Wonder Woman" (1975–1977) and "The New Adventures of Wonder Woman" (1977-1979). Along with her boost in popularity as an actress due to both of these series, Carter also recorded an album titled, "Portrait" and is also credited as a writer on several songs.
Along with her career as a singer and actress, Carter is involved in doing motivational speaking engagements. She did admit publicly that she had admitted herself to a rehabilitation treatment center for her addiction to alcohol.
In later years Carter starred in the film, "Sky High" (2005) and also returned to her love of singing on stage in the production of "Chicago" in 2005.
Carter was ranked #3 on Wizard's magazines "Sexiest Women of TV" in 2008 and she has also been involved in a number of charitable causes such as breast cancer research and also working with a number of charities to benefit children.
Carter has married twice throughout her lifetime, first to Ron Samuels in 1977 through 1982. She then married Robert Altman in 1984 and they have two children and remain together today.
