LOLA ALBRIGHT BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Lola Albright was born on July 20th, 1925 in Akron, Ohio. Her throaty distinctive voice became well know in Hollywood along with her seductive and sultry appearance, Albright became a highly desired actress during her era.
She first gained experience in the industry working as a model and for a radio station in Ohio before deciding to make the big move out west in pursuit of a fulltime career as an actress.
Some of her early film roles included, "The Unfinished Dance" (1947) starring Margaret O'Brien, "The Pirate" (1948) starring Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Walter Slezak and George Zucco, "Easter Parade" (1948) starring Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Peter Lawford and Ann Miller, "Champion" (1949) starring Kirk Douglas, Marilyn Maxwell, Arthur Kennedy, Paul Stewart and Ruth Roman, her most well known film role, "Tulsa" (1949) starring Susan Hayward, Chill Wills, Robert Preston, Ed Begley and Pedro Armendariz, "A Cold Winter August" (1961) co-starring Scott Marlowe and the film, "Kid Galahad" (1962) starring with Elvis Presley, Gig Young, Joan Blackman, Edward Asner, Robert Emhardt, Liam Redmond, Red West and Charles Bronson.
As her career progressed, film role offers began to slow down although she did add the credits, "Joy House" (1964) with Jane Fonda and in 1966 she won the Best Actress Award for her role in the film, "Lord Love a Duck" starring alongside Roddy McDowall, Tuesday Weld, Harvey Korman and Ruth Gordon. One of her last film roles was, "Where Were You When the Lights Went Out?" (1968) starring Doris Day, Patrick O'Neal, Robert Morse and Jim Backus.
Along with her film work she was also quite prevalent on television appearing in the series, "Peter Gunn", "Racket Squad", "Burke's Law", "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Mr. Broadway", "Bonanza", "Airwolf", "The Beverly Hillbillies", "Columbo", "The Bob Cummings Show", "Police Story", "Cimarron Strip", "Medical Center" and "The Eleventh Hour".
Albright has married a total of three times, although her first marriage was very brief. Marriage number two was in 1952 to Jack Carson however by 1958 this marriage also came to an end. She then wed her third husband Bill Chadney in 1961 and again by 1975 another marriage had ended in divorce. She never had any of her own children and currently is retired from the industry and resides in California.
