Larry Storch was born on January 8th, 1923 in New York City, New York and was raised in New York by his parents, Alfred and Sally Storch. He attended high school at Dewitt Clinton High, however he never earned his diploma and left early to earn a living as a stand up comedian.
His career as an actor began as an impressionist and comedian performing in teen vaudeville houses. He then took a break from pursuing a career as a performer to serve in the military during World War II. Upon completing his military service he found work in Palm Springs, California as an opening act for Lucille Ball's and Desi Arnaz' show.
This job was followed by another job on the radio performing on, "The Kraft Music Hall". He was slowly beginning to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry and next was appearing on the television show, "Cavalcade of Stars" (1949) and his own variety series, "The Larry Storch Show" (1953).
As his career progressed, Storch was cast in the musical, "You Never Know" (1955) and the productions, "The Tender Trap" (1956) and "Who Was that Lady I Saw You With?" (1958). (1969). He was the first actor to voice 'the Joker' character from the animated Batman cartoon series.
