L.Q. JONES BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
L.Q. Jones was born on August 19th, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas with the birth name Justice Ellis McQueen Jr. born to Jessie Paralee and Justice Ellis McQueen. After high school he attended the University of Texas at Austin in the 1940’s.
His first film role was, “Battle Cry” (1955) starring Van Heflin, Aldo Ray, James Whitmore, Tab Hunter, Anne Francis, Dorothy Malone, Raymond Massey, William Campbell, John Lupton, Nancy Olson, Fess Parker, Willis Bouchey and Mona Freeman and it was from this film role and the character that he played that he took on his stage name. Soon he began adding such film roles to his resume as, “The Young Lions” (1958) starring Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift and Dean Martin, ”Battle of the Coral Sea” (1959) starring with Cliff Robertson, Robin Hughes, Tom Laughlin, Patricia Cutts, Teru Shimada and Gia Scala, "Flaming Star" (1960) starring Elvis Presley, Barbara Eden, John McIntire, Dolores del Rio, Richard Jaeckel, Karl Swenson, Ford Rainey and Steve Forrest, “Hell is for Heroes” (1962) starring Steve McQueen, Bobby Darin, Fess Parker, James Coburn, Bob Newhart, Harry Guardino and Nick Adams “Ride the High Country” (1962) starring Randolph Scott, Joel McCrea, Edgar Buchanan, James Drury, Warren Oates, John Anderson, Byron Foulger, R.G. Armstrong and Mariette Hartley, ”Major Dundee" (1965) starring Richard Harris, James Coburn, Jim Hutton, Senta Berger, Karl Swenson, Ben Johnson, R.G. Along with his career as an actor he has also worked on the other side of the industry directing such films as, “The Bother of Satan” (1971) starring Strother Martin, Charles Bateman, Ahna Capri, Alvy Moore and Charles Robinson and working as a producer on, "The Devil's Bedroom" (1964) co-starring John Lupton, Valerie Allen and Dickie Jones, "The Witchmaker" (1969) with John Lodge, Alvy Moore and Thordis Brandt, “A Boy and His Dog” (1975) starring Don Johnson and Jason Robards and soon to release in 2012 the re-make of, "A Boy and His Dog".
He has also added various television series to his resume such as, ”Klondike", “Gunsmoke”, “The Virginian”, “Men of Annapolis”, “Laramie”, “Two Faces West”, "Lock Up", Annie Oakley", "Pistols 'n Petticoats", “The A-Team”, "Lawman", "Lassie", "Route 66", "Wagon Train", "Rawhide", "Perry Mason", "The Rifleman" and "Hawaii Five-O".

He has married only once in 1950 to Neta Sue Lewis and they had three children before the marriage came to an end in 1979. He remains working in the industry as a producer and director.
