JUNE COLLYER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
June Collyer was born on August 19th, 1904 in New York City, New York with the birth name Dorothea Collyer Heermance. Her mother was an actress and her father worked as a lawyer. Growing up in a family involved in the industry, sparked her interest to also pursue a career as an actress.
She began her career in the industry as a actress in silent films such as, "East Side, West Side" (1927) and "Broadway Nights" (1927). When the era of sound films came about she made the transition with ease appearing on the big screen in such films as, "Charley's Aunt" (1930), "Alexander Hamilton" (1931), "The Brat" (1931), "Before Midnight" (1933), "Murder by Television" (1935) and "A Face in the Fog" (1936).
June too a fifteen year hiatus from acting to focus on her personal life, but soon returned to the industry appearing as Mrs. Erwin, in the television sitcom series, "The Stu Erwin Show" (1950-1955) and her final public role was in, "Playhouse 90" (1958).
June Collyer married only once to Stuart Erwin in 1931 and they had two children and remained married until he passed away on December 21st, 1967. Just one year later, June Collyer passed away on March 16th, 1968 in Los Angeles, California after suffering from bronchial pneumonia.
