JULIET PROWSE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Juliet Prowse was born on September 25th, 1936 in Bombay, India with the middle name Anne, born to South African parents. By the age of four she was already taking dance lessons and soon was attending the Royal Academy of Dance. When she was fourteen years old she was told she was too tall to continue to pursue a career as a dancer and therefore, she began performing in nightclubs across Europe until she was discovered by Hollywood choreographer, Hermes Pan who cast her in her first film, "Can Can" (1960).

She soon rose to stardom with her romantic relationship with Frank Sinatra whom she met on the set of, "Can Can". She also starred in the film, "G.I. Blues" (1960) with Elvis Presley. Other film roles followed such as, "The Second Time Around" (1961), "The Fiercest Heart" (1961), "The Right Approach" (1961) and "Dingaka" (1965).

For the most part film roles were not coming so easily to her so she turned to television work and continued appearing on the stage. Some of her television roles were on such series as, "Mona McCluskey" (1965), "The Name of the Game" (1968), "Fantasy Island" (1983) and "The Love Boat" (1979-1987).

Along with television roles she added such stage productions to her credits in, "Sweet Charity", "Kismet", "Irma La Douce", "Mame" and "The Pajama Game".

Juliet Prowse married twice throughout her lifetime, first in 1969 to Eddie Frazier but this marriage only lasted one year. She then wed, actor, John McCook in 1972 and they had one child, Seth, before this marriage came to an end in 1979. She did not re-marry and in 1994 was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, although she did briefly go into remission and was able to continue performing in Las Vegas. Juliet Prowse passed away on September 14th, 1996 in Los Angeles, California.
