JIMMY HAWKINS BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Jimmy Hawkins was born on November 13th, 1941 in Los Angeles, California with the birth name James F. Hawkins to Thomas J.Hawkins and Bette C. Hawkins. His career in acting began as a child actor and he later turned his focus towards working as a film director.
His first acting jobs were un-credited at the age of two on the films, "The Seventh Cross" and "Marriage Is A Private Affair" (both 1944). By the age of four he appeared in the film, "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946) starring James Stewart and Donna Reed.
Other roles he added on to his resume early on in his career were starring roles on such television series as, "The Ruggles" (1949-1952), "Annie Oakley" (1954-1957) starring Gail Davis, "The Donna Reed Show" (1958-1966), "Petticoat Junction" (1963-1967), "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" (1962-1964) and "Ichabod and Me" (1961-1962).
Although he was a working child actor, he still managed to graduate from the Roman Catholic-affiliated Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. Other guest appearances he added to his credits were on, "Leave it to Beaver", "My Three Sons", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "The Fugitive" and his final television role was in 1974 on, "Kolchak: The Night Stalker".
After his career in acting he decided to work on the other side of the industry. He began working mostly with ABC Theatre Productions as a producer. Some of the films he worked on were, "Evel Knievel", "Scout's Honor", "Love Leads the Way" and "The Little Rascals" for un updated version .
He received a couple honors throughout his career in the industry. In 1961, Hawkins was voted into the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Then in 1994, he was honored by the Young Artists Foundation with a, "Former Child Star Lifetime Achievement Award".
Jimmy Hawkins has married only once to Lara Parker and they have one daughter, Caitlin Elizabeth Hawkins who was born in 1985. Along with his career in entertainment he also began a construction business and has managed to author five books based on the classic film, "It's a Wonderful Life".
