Jane Seymour ACTOR

Jane Seymour was born on February 15th, 1951 in Hayes, Middlesex in England with the birth name Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg, born to Mieke & John Frankenberg.  She is the oldest of three daughters and she was raised outside of London.

Growing up she took ballet lessons and by the age of thirteen she was already performing live with the London Festival Ballet.  Sadly by the age of sixteen, she injured her knee so bad that she could not continue to pursue a career as a dancer. 

She decided to turn her goals to acting and began appearing on the big screen in, "Oh, What a Lovely War!" (1968) followed by her first major film role in the James Bond classic "Live and Let Die" (1973) and "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" (1974).  Seymour is best known for her role in the television series, "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" portraying Dr. Michaela Quinn.  

Seymour was already earning a name for herself in the industry and began appearing on television in such series as, "McCloud", "Battle Galactica", "East of Eden", "War and Remembrance", "Captain and Kings" and then in 1988 she won an Emmy for her portrayal of the character, Maria Callas in, "Onassis".

Her starring role on the western series, "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" ran for a total of six seasons and when canceled was later made into a number of television movies such as, "Four Feathers", "Killer on Board", "The Haunting Passion", "The Woman He Loved", "Praying Mantis", "Count on Me", "Heart of a Stranger", "Dear Prudence" and her most recent television movie role set to release in 2012 in, "Elixer".

Some of her other more recent appearances have been on the films, "Love, Wedding, Marriage", "Family Tree" and "Lake Effects" (all 2011).  She was also cast in the television series, "The Voyage of Young Dr. Dolittle" (2011).  Soon to release in 2012 is her newest role in the feature film, "Austenland". 

In addition to her acting career, Seymour is also a spokesperson for UNICEF as well as an International Ambassador for Childhelp USA.  She also has her own clothing line as well as a children's book series.  Along with her current husband, James Keach they also started a production company, Catfish Productions. 

She has married four times throughout her lifetime, first to Michael Attenborough from 1971 through 1973.  She then married Victor Geoffrey Planer for only one year from 1977 through 1878.  Her third marriage was to David Flynn in 1981 and they had two children before this marriage also came to an end in 1992.  Her current husband is James Keach and they have two children and reside outside Bath, England as well as own a residence in Malibu, California.
