JAMIE FOXX BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Jamie Foxx was born on December 13th, 1967 in Terrell, Texas with the birth name Eric Marlon Bishop. His parents were Louise Annette Talley Dixon and Darrel Bishop. He was raised by his grandparents who adopted him and he had a very strict up bringing. He was involved in piano lessons, choir, boy scouts and was very athletic playing basket ball and football in high school.
After graduating from Terrell High School he went on to college at United States International University where he studied music on a scholarship. In 1989 he began doing stand up comedy and this led to a role in the sitcom, "Roc" (1992). Soon he became a cast member of the television show, "In Living Color" (1991) and his own sitcom soon followed, "The Jamie Foxx Show" (1996-2001).
He also added to his resume roles in such films as, "Toys" (1992), "Any Given Sunday" (1999), "Collateral" (2004) and his role in the film, "Ray" (2004) earned him an Academy Award as well as a BAFTA Award for Best Actor as well as a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
In addition to his acting career, Foxx released his first music album, "Peep This" and his second album, "Unpredictable" released in 2005, followed with his third album, "Intuition" releasing in 2008 and "Best Night of My Life" was his fourth album released in 2010.
Jamie has received a number of honors being in the industry such as being named, "One of the 50 Most Beautiful People" by People's magazine in 2005 and in 2006 they named him, "One of the Hottest Bachelors". He was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to the Motion Picture Industry. He is also a Grammy Award winner for producing three albums and in 2005 was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
In addition to his stand up comedy, acting career, and music career he also announced in 2007 that he has a radio channel, "The Foxhole". This channel features talk radio programs, stand up comedy albums and music, mostly by African American artists.
Foxx is also a producer for such television series as, "The Jamie Foxx Show", "From G's to Gents" and such television movies as, "Life Support" and "Laffapalooza!". He has also worked as an executive producer for such documentaries as, "Jamie Foxx: I Might Need Security" and "Jamie Foxx: Unpredictable".
He currently resides in Hidden Valley, California and has one daughter. Some of his more recent credits include roles on such films as, "Stealth" (2005), "Jarhead" (2005), "The Kingdom" (2007), "The Soloist" (2009), "Rio" (2011), "The Brain Storm" (2011) and soon to release, "Django Unchained" and "Welcome to the Jungle" (2012).
