JAMES GRIFFITH BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

James Griffith was born in Los Angeles, California on  February 13th, 1916.  Throughout his career in the industry he never limited himself to portraying one type of character and would appear in all types of films.

At one point in his career he performed as a musician with Spike Jones and His City Slickers.  His career in entertainment began in the music industry with no intention to ever pursue, however, over time he began working in local theaters and began to develop an interest in acting.

He first began to earn a name for himself in the industry when he appeared in the stage production, "They Can't Get You Down" (1939), however before continuing to increase his success as an actor, he took a break from pursuing his career to serve in the United States military during World War II.

Carrol Naish and Ben Cooper, "The Vampire" (1957) starring John Beal, Coleen Gray, Kenneth Tobey and Lydia Reed, "Man from God's Country" (1958) co-starring George Montgomery, Randy Stuart and Gregg Barton and "Lorna" (1964) starring Lorna Maitland and written by James Griffith in just four days.

Along with his film career he added over seventy television appearances to his resume with such series credits as, "The Lone Ranger", "Gunsmoke", "Zane Grey Theatre", "Perry Mason", "Cavalcade of America", "City Detectives", "Waterfront", "Dragnet", 'Frontier", "Zorro", "Code 3", "M Squad", "Trackdown", "Annie Oakley", "The Gene Autry Show" and "Cimarron City" among many others.
