JACK WESTON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Jack Weston was born on August 21st, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio with the birth name Jack Weinstein. He first developed an interest in acting at the age of ten and joined the Cleveland Playhouse children's theater. Later after school he worked as a Machine Gunner as well as a USO performer during World War II.
Upon completing his military service, Weston then moved to New York City in pursuit of a career as a stage actor. Some of his early Broadway and stage credits included, "The Floating Light Bulb" and appeared in other stage productions such as, "Bells are Ringing", "The Ritz", "One Night Stand" and "California Suite".
In 1958 he broke into the film industry adding such credits to his resume as, "Captain Video and His Video Rangers" (1949), "Stage Struck" (1958), "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" (1960), "The Cincinnati Kid" (1965) starring Steve McQueen, Edward G. Robinson, Joan Blondell, Ann Margret, Karl Malden, Dub Taylor, Rip Torn, Karl Swenson and Tuesday Weld, "Wait Until Dark" (1967) starring alongside Audrey Hepburn, Richard Crenna, Alan Arkin and Efrem Zimbalist Jr., "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1968) starring Steve McQueen, Faye Dunaway, Paul Burke and Yaphet Kotto, Cactus Flower" (1969), "Fuzz" (1972) and Gator" (1976)
Later in his career he added more film roles such as, "The Four Seasons" (1981), "Dirty Dancing" (1987) starring Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, Jerry Orbach, Cynthia Rhodes and Kelly Bishop and "Ishtar" (1987). Along with film and stage work, Weston also appeared on such television series as, "Burke's Law", "Fibber McGee and Molly", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "The Lawless Years", "Rod Brown of the Rocket Rangers", "The United States Steel Hour", "Playhouse 90", "Twilight Zone', "Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre", "Gunsmoke", "The Untouchables" and "Tales of the Unexpected.
Jack Weston married twice throughout his lifetime, first to actress Marge Redmond in 1950 and when this marriage came to an end he then wed Laurie Gilkes and they remained married until he passed away at the age of seventy one on May 3rd, 1996 from lymphoma in New York City, New York.
