GREGORY WALCOTT BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Gregory Walcott was born on January 13th, 1928 in Wendell, North Carolina with the birth name Bernard Mattox. After high school he joined the united States Army and upon completing his service he decided to embark on a career as an actor.
He began with working as a stage performer and during one amateur performance and agent took notice of his talent and helped him get cast in his first film role, "Red Skies of Montana" (1952).
Soon he began adding more film roles such as, "Battle Cry" (1955), "Mister Roberts" (1955), "Badman's Country" (1958), "Plan 9 from Outer Space" (1959), "The Outsider" (1961), "Prime Cut" (1972), "Joe Kidd" (1972), "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" (1974), "The Eiger Sanction" (1975), "Every Which Way But Loose" (1978) and "Tilt" (1979).
Along with film in 1961 he earned a Universal Contract to appear on the television series, "87th Precinct". Other television credits included, "Climax!", "I Led 3 Lives", "Shotgun Slade", "Cheyenne", "Zane Grey Theatre", "Wagon Train", "Frontier Doctor", "Rawhide", "Dynasty", "Airwolf", "Dallas", "26 Men", "Laramie", "Bat Masterson", "The Rifleman", "The People's Choice", "Maverick", "The Man Behind the Badge", "Dallas", "Murder, She Wrote" and "Land of the Lost".
Gregory Walcott married only once to Barbara Walcott in 1954 and they had three children together and remained married until she passed away in 2010. He is retired from acting as of 1994 when he last appeared on the film, "Ed Wood".
