GARY BUSEY BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Gary Busey was born on June 29th, 1944 in Goose Creek, Texas with the birth name William Gary Busey.  He was raised in Oklahoma by parents Sadie Virginia and Delmar Lloyd Busey.  After graduating from Nathan Hale high school he went on to college at Pittsburg State university and then transferred to Oklahoma State University, however just one class short of earning his degree he dropped out of college.
 
He first became involved in the world of entertainment working as a musician and later broke into the film industry.  Some of his early roles were in such films as, "Angels Hard as They Come" (1971), "The Magnificent Seven Ride" (1972), "Dirty Little Billy" (1972), "The Last American Hero" (1973) and "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" (1974).   
 
Gary's break through role was in 1978 when he was cast in the film, "The Buddy Holly Story" for which he played Rock and Roll singer Buddy Holly and did all the vocals.  His performance earned him a Best Actor Oscar nomination as well as more importantly the attention of Hollywood.
 
His film career was now finally heading in the right direction and he continued to take on more prominent roles in such features as, "Big Wednesday" (1978).  Then for a while he was out of the spotlight, still working but no films were at the level of potential he knew he was capable of until in 1987 he was cast in, "Lethal Weapon" alongside Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
 
Finally, Busey again gained Hollywood's attention and then was seen more on the big screen in the films, "Predator 2" (1990), "Point Break" (1991), "Under Siege" (1992), "Dr. Doolittle 3" 92006) and "Lady Samarai" (2007).  Some of his latest roles have been on the television HBO series, "Entourage" and soon to release in 2012, "Mansion of Blood".  Also in 2008 he became a cast member of the reality television show, "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew", however he is not a patient but more part of a mentoring team to help the other patients undergoing rehabilitation.
 
Throughout his lifetime he has married twice, first to Judy Busey from 1968 through 1990 and they had one child together, Jake Busey, who also pursued a career as an actor.  He then married Tiani Warden in 1996, however this marriage only lasted until 2001.  He has two other children from previous relationships, a daughter, Alectra with girlfriend Tracy Hutchingson and a son, Luke Samson from a relationship with current fiancé', Steffanie Sampson.   
 
Although his career has been quite successful, he has had some minor issues in his personal life.  He was arrested in 1999 for a fight with his second wife and also in 2001 he was again arrested this time again for spousal abuse.  Busey has also had some issues with cocaine possession in the past as well as overdosing on cocaine and GHB and being hospitalized for his addiction.
