FAITH DOMERGUE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Faith Domergue was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 16th, 1924 with the birth name Faith Marie Domergue. She was adopted at only six weeks old by Adabelle Wemet and after her adopted mother married Leo Domergue in 1926, the family relocated to California. She enrolled in piano and singing lessons while living in Los Angeles.
Domergue attended school at Beverly Hills Catholic School as well as St. Monica's Convent School. While she was still in a student in High School, she was discovered by Warner Brothers Pictures and signed to a contract with them.
Her film debut was in 1941 on the feature, "Blues in the Night". After a near fatal car accident she took a brief break from acting and spent eighteen months undergoing reconstructive surgery. During this time she met director, Howard Hughes who took a liking to her and bought her out of her Warner Brothers contract. He signed her instead to a contract with RKO Pictures. Her first film under her new contract was in, "Vendetta" (1950) which was unsuccessful and therefore, she chose to end her contract with RKO.
Domergue chose instead to work as a freelance actress and did a number of films such as, "Where Danger Lives" (1955), "The Great Sioux Uprising" (1953) and "It Came From Beneath the Sea" (1955). She also became quite a popular actress over in England and Italy after she separated from her Argentinean partner, Hugo Fregonese, who was a writer and director.

As the mid 60's progressed she began to lose interest in acting and mostly appeared in 'B' rated films towards the end of her acting career such as, "The House of the Seven Corpses" (1974). In 1968, she had chose to relocated to Rome, Italy permanently, only returning to the film industry on very odd occasions. After she lost her husband, she relocated to Santa Barbara, California where she spent the remainder of her life.
Faith Domergue married three times throughout her life. First to Teddy Stauffer from 1946 for only one year. She then married, Hugo Fregonese from 1947 through 1960 and had two children with him. Her third and final marriage was to Paolo Cossa from 1966 through his passing in 1992.
