ELIZABETH ALLEN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Elizabeth Allen was born on January 25th, 1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey with the birth name Elizabeth Ellen Gillease. Her interest in entertainment first began as working as a fashion model for Ford Modeling Agency.
She began to catch the attention of Hollywood with her modeling work and her experience as a stage performer with the Helen Hayes Repertory Gorup. Soon was appearing on such television shows as, "The Jackie Gleason Show" followed by appearances on such series as, "Kojak", "The Fugitive", "Checkmate", "Burke's Law", "C.P.O. Sharkey", "Another World", "Texas", "Mannix", "Paris 7000" and one of Allen's most known roles on, "The Twilight Zone".
In addition to modeling, stage and television work she has also appeared on the big screen in such features as, "From the Terrace" (1960) starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Myrna Loy, Barbara Eden, Ina Balin and Leon Ames, "Donovan's Reef" (1963) starring John Wayne and Lee Marvin, "Diamond Head" (1963) starring alongside Charlton Heston, Yvette Mimieux, George Chakiris, James Darren and France Nuyen, "Cheyenne Autumn" (1963) starring James Stewart, Richard Widmark, Gilbert Roland, Carroll Baker, Ricardo Montalban, Edward G. Robinson, Arthur Kennedy, Sal Mineo, George O'Brien, Karl Malden, Dolores del Rio, Victor Jory and Mike Mazurki, "Star Spangled Girl" (1971) starring Sandy Duncan and Tony Roberts and "The Carey Treatment" (1972) starring James Coburn, Jennifer O'Neill and Pat Hingle.
Allen loved performing live on the stage and she added a number or production roles to her resume over the course of her career appearing in, "The Gay Life", "Do I Hear a Waltz?", "Romanoff and Juliet", "California Suite", "The Pajama Game", "South Pacific" and Show Boat".
Elizabeth Allen married only once to Byron Carl von Virringhoff-Schell in 1952 however by 1955 this marriage came to an end. She never re-married or had any of her own children. On September 19th, 2006 she passed away at the age of seventy seven in Fishkill, New York after suffering from kidney failure.
