Edward Norton ACTOR

Edward Norton was born on August 18th, 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland with the middle name Harrison.  His parents were, Edward Mower Norton Jr. an attorney who was once the attorney for President Jimmy Carter and his mother, Lydia Robinson worked as a teacher.  He had two siblings, Molly and Jim. 
Norton first developed an interest in acting when he attended a camp called, Camp Pasquaney in New Hampshire and he won an acting cup.  Later in 1984 he returned to the camp, this time directing theater.  After earning his high school diploma from West Lake High School he went on to study at Yale University and participated in a number of school productions as well.
After earning a Bachelors degree in History, he relocated to Japan and worked for his grandfathers company, Enterprise Community Partners as a consultant.  After some time in Japan he came to realize how much he enjoyed performing and therefore he relocated back to New York City.
When he arrived in New York while trying to find work as an actor he supported himself with a number of odd jobs such as a waiter, proof reader and directors assistant before he began finding work in a number of Off-Broadway productions.  Then in 1996 he was cast in his first film role, "Primal Fear", for which he won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
His next major film role was in, "American History X" in 1998 which earned Norton an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.  Other film roles he soon began to add to his resume were roles in, "Rounders" (1998), "Fight Club" (1999), "Red Dragon" (2002) and "Kingdom of Heaven" (2005), where he portrayed Baldwin IV, the King of Jerusalem which was a highly well received performance.
Some of his more recent film roles have been in, "Down in the Valley" (2006), "The Illusionist" (2006), The Incredible Hulk" (2008), "Leaves of Grass" (2010), "Stone" (2010), and soon to release in 2012, "Moonrise Kingdom" and "The Bourne Legacy". 
Along with his acting career he also manages to set time aside for a number of charitable causes such as being part of the board of trustees for, Enterprise Community Partners which is a non-profit that helps develop affordable housing in his home town.  He is also very supportive of environmental causes and is dedicated to try and help fund low income communities to make life better for the people who live there.
Currently Edward Norton has not married and resides in New York City.
