He is most remembered for his voice over work in the 1941 cartoon, "Dumbo" portraying the voice of Timothy Mouse.  Brophy was also given a chance to work on the other side of the industry such as being a props master.  He remained pursuing his career goals and soon was appearing in more prominent films such as, "The Cameraman" (1928) starring Buster Keaton, Marceline Day and Harold Goodwin, "Our Blushing Brides" (1930) starring Joan Crawford, Robert Montgomery, Anita Page, Hedda Hopper and Dorothy Sebastian, "Remote Control" (1930) starring William Haines, Charles King, Mary Doran, John Miljan, "The Champ" (1931) starring Wallace Beery, Jackie Cooper, Irene Rich and Roscoe Ates and "Freaks" (1932) starring Wallace Ford and Roscoe Ates

Majority of films he appeared on were in conjunction with MGM Studio's.  As his career progressed there was no signs of him slowing down adding more film credits such as, "Air Force" (1943) starring John Garfield, John Ridgely, Harry Carey, Arthur Kennedy, Ray Montgomery, Addison Richards and Gig Young , "A Night of Adventure" (1944), "Renegade Girl" (1946) starring Ann Savage, Ray 'Crash' Corrigan, John 'Dusty' King, Alan Curtis, Edmund Cobb, Jack Holt and Chief Thundercloud and "Danger Zone" (1951) co-starring Richard Travis and Hugh Beaumont

Along with film work towards the end of his career he turned his focus more towards television appearances adding such series as, "The Millionaire", "Circus Boy", "Playhouse 90", "The Ann Sothern Show", "Mr. and Mrs. North" and his final role was in the television movie, "The Slowest Gun in the West" (1960) starring Phil Silvers, Jack Benny, Ted de Corsia, Robert J.
