DIANA LYNN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Diana Lynn was born on October 7th, 1926 in Los Angeles, California with the birth name Dolores Loehr. At a young age she began taking piano lessons and was soon given the chance to appear in the film, "They Shall Have Music" (1939) followed by a small role in, "There's Magic in Music" (1941).
In 1942 at the age of sixteen, Paramount signed her to a contract and her stage name then became Diana Lynn. She began to appear in more substantial film roles such as, "The Major and the Minor" (1942) starring Ginger Rogers, Ray Milland, Rita Johnson and Robert Benchley, "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek" (1944) starring Eddie Bracken, Betty Hutton, William Demarest, Porter Hall, Brian Donlevy and Akim Tamiroff, "Our Hearts Were Young, and Gay" (1944) starring Gail Russell and Charlie Ruggles, "Texas, Brooklyn and Heaven" (1948) starring with Guy Madison, James Dunn, William Frawley, Roscoe Karns, Margaret Hamilton and Irene Ryan, "My Friend Irma" (1949) starring Marie Wilson, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, John Lund, Hans Conried, and Don DeFore, "Paid in Full" (1950) starring with Robert Cummings, Lizabeth Scott, Ray Collins, Eve Arden, Louis Jean Heydt and Frank McHugh, "Bedtime Story for Bonzo" (1951) co-starring Ronald Reagan, Walter Slezak and Jesse White, "Meet me at the Fair" (1953) starring Dan Dailey, Scatman Crothers, Chet Allen, Rhys Williams, George Chandler and Hugh O'Brian and "The Kentuckian" (1955) starring alongside Burt Lancaster, Dianne Foster, John Litel, Una Merkel, Walter Matthau, Rhys Williams, John Carradine and John McIntire.
In addition to working as a film actress, Lynn also appeared on a variety of television series such as, "Crime Photographer", "Hollywood Opening Night", "Ford Television Theatre", "Stage 7", "The Loretta Young Show", "Checkmate", "Front Row Center", "Playhouse 90", "Climax!", "Bus Stop", "Matinee Theatre", "Burke's Law", "The Virginian" and her final television appearance was in the movie, "Company of Killers" (1971) starring Van Johnson, Ray Milland, Clu Gulager, Robert Middleton, Brian Kelly, Susan Oliver and Fritz Weaver.
Lynn married twice throughout her lifetime, first to John C. Lindsay in 1948 however by 1954, this marriage came to an end. She then wed Mortimer W. Hall in 1956 and they had four children and remained married until she passed away at the young age of forty five, from a stroke and brain hemorrhage on December 18th, 1971 in Los Angeles, California.
Prior to her passing, she was also involved in running a travel agency called "GO" and had also considered returning to Los Angeles to make a film comeback when she suffered an unexpected fatal stroke.
Diana Lynn was honored with two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contribution to the Motion Picture and Television Industry.
