DENNIS MORGAN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Dennis Morgan was born on December 20th, 1908 in Prentice, Wisconsin with the birth name Earl Stanley Morner. After high school he enrolled in college at Carroll College in Wisconsin and later in his early career days, studied voice at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee as well as the American Conservatory in Chicago.
When he first became involved in the entertainment industry it was mostly just small parts. He also gained some experience performing in front of live audiences when he toured with an operatic company and would sing on stage in such productions as, "Faust" and "Carmen". It was not until he was cast in, "The Natural History of a Woman" (1940) that his career finally began to take off.
A number of film roles followed such as, "Thank Your Lucky Stars" (1943), "The Hard Way" (1943), "God Is My Co-Pilot" (1945), "The Very Thought of You" (1944), "Two Guys from Milwaukee" (1946), "Two Guys From Texas" (1948) and "It’s a Great Feeling" (1949).
Dennis began his career under a contract with MGM and later switched to Paramount but it was his contract with Warner Brothers Studios that really helped his career reach a whole new level of stardom.
He was highly desired and along with a highly successful film career he also made numerous television appearances on such series as, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" (1958), "The Ford Television Theater" (1955) and a cameo appearance in 1980 on, "The Love Boat".
Many remember him from the very successful film, "Christmas in Connecticut" (1945) which is still a holiday favorite. In 1947 he appeared with his daughter, Kristin Morgan in the film, "My Wild Irish Rose" when she was only eight years old.
In the mid 50's he retired from the industry but every once in a while would make a cameo appearance.
He was married only one time to Lillian Vedder whom he wed in 1933 and they had two sons and one daughter together and remained married until he passed away on September 7th, 1994 in Fresno, California after suffering from respiratory failure.
